Google Business Profile

Amplifying Local SEO and Social Media Integration

Your Google Business profile isn't just a static listing; it's a dynamic tool that can significantly impact your SEO game. With Google Business profiles evolving into comprehensive hubs of information, optimising this platform has become a key factor for local SEO success.

Why? Because when you create a Google Business Profile, Google will display your business information in its search results, including your name, address, and phone number. This information is often used by Google to determine local search rankings, which means that having a Google Business Profile can help your business appear higher in search results for local queries. This increased visibility can lead to more website traffic and ultimately more customers.

Key strategies include:

  1. Complete Profile Information: Ensure all sections of your Google Business profile are fully populated with accurate and up-to-date information, including business hours, contact details, and a compelling business description. An effective Google Business Profile means that your business will show up on Google Maps, making it easier for potential customers to find you. With a Google Business Profile, customers can easily see your business’s location, hours of operation, and contact information from within Google Maps and on the Search Engine Results Page.
  2. Encourage Reviews: Positive reviews not only enhance credibility but also contribute to higher rankings in local search results. Encourage satisfied clients to leave reviews on your Google Business profile to bolster your online reputation. You can also use your Google Business Profile to respond to customer reviews and questions, demonstrating that you value customer feedback and are committed to providing an excellent customer experience.
  3. Connect other social media accounts: With Google's recent integration of its Business profile with various social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, your online presence gets a serious turbo boost. By linking your social media accounts to your Google Business profile, you not only ensure consistent branding across platforms but also increase your visibility in search results. Plus, having an active presence on social media signals to search engines that your business is legitimate and trustworthy, further supporting your SEO efforts.

Social Media Marketing

Social media platforms are a great method for further distributing content already published on your website, communicating about key services and offerings from your firm and providing an additional channel for attracting traffic to your website. There are many social media platforms to choose from in today's digital world. Each offering a variety of tools and approaches to support you in communicating with and widening your audience.

Below we have covered a few of the key platforms to consider for your firm.

Facebook

Building Community and Credibility

Facebook isn't just for sharing cat videos and memes (though those are great too). It's a powerful platform for businesses to connect with their audience on a more personal level. For an accounting business, Facebook provides the perfect space to share informative articles, engage with followers through comments and messages, and even run targeted ad campaigns to reach potential clients in your area. By regularly updating your Facebook page with valuable content and interacting with your audience, you not only build a sense of community but also establish credibility in your field, which translates to long-term SEO improvement.

Facebooks potential audience reach is huge, making it a great way to engage with existing clients and reach new prospects. It's important to give prospective clients on Facebook an easy passage to your website. Use prominent images and videos to ensure your posts gain attention and that your page gets lots of Facebook likes, shares and comments – and most importantly traffic back to your website.

A great method for this is to provide a snippet of content from one of your blog posts. Enough to engage the reader, a leading question or statement to get them thinking – then a click through back to your website for the full article.

YouTube is a fantastic platform for showcasing your expertise as an accountant. Whether you're providing tax advice, explaining common financial queries, or sharing client success stories, YouTube allows you to connect with your audience in a more visual and engaging way.

As the world's second largest search engine, YouTube can be a useful tool to drive targeted traffic back to your website or other social media platforms. Some tips for your YouTube content:

  • Keep your video concise and to the point (a few minutes) to keep your audience's attention.
  • Include a call to action - ensure you have provided a call to action within your video and include a link for easy connectivity back to your site, contacting you about a new service offering, or signing up to your mailing list.
  • Tie it into your website content - say you have a content page or blog post along the lines of "Tax Time Tips" – your video could provide useful detail on 1 or 2 tips, and list out a short descriptor to give the audience a taste of another 3 or 4 – encouraging viewers to 'click the link below' to visit your website page for more useful "Tax Time Tips".

Page speed and user experience should be key considerations for an effective online presence. Google’s algorithm includes measurements relating to the user experience of your websites visitors, including how fast your page loads and responds to user interaction. How CCH Web Manager helps you CCH Web Manager incorporates inbuilt optimisations of content, such as images, to better enhance the loading speeds. Every image that’s uploaded to your website goes through an optimisation process where up to 5 reduced-size copies of the image are created. For example, if a 2000px width image is uploaded, 5 new optimised copies will be created. If a 100px width image is uploaded, no new images will be created because the size of an original uploaded image isn't increased by the automatic optimisation. When you the add the image to a page on your site, CCH Web Manager automatically inserts the appropriate version of that image into the desktop, tablet, and mobile views of your website, making sure your site visitors always see the correct sized image for their device. Below you can see the same image uploaded to a CCH Web Manager website, but inserted in different pages at different sizes, notice how the editor has automatically adjusted the image dimensions and file size based on how it is being served up to the end user.
